AT CITPOINT WE BELIEVE COMMUNION IS AS SIMPLE AS 1-2-3-4:
- The Last Supper (often referred to as the Lord's Supper) is the event
when Jesus introduced communion to His disciples.
- Communion is intended to be an opportunity for Christians to honor Christ and remember that He lived on earth, died on the cross, rose from the grave, and one day will return to earth again.
- The elements of communion are the bread and the cup. The bread is symbolic of the body of Christ, which was bruised and beaten on the cross so that we might have healing in our bodies. The cup is symbolic of the blood of Christ on the cross so that our sinful nature can be washed away and we can become new creations in Christ.
- The scripture cautions us not to partake in communion if we are unworthy. That simply means that we must have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and are striving to live a life that demonstrates that Jesus is changing us and we are committed to Him.
Communion will be scheduled on a regular basis.
